BWS Financial was started by Hamed Khorsand in 2000. BWS provides independent stock specific research focused on companies with distinct value that are going through a special situation where there is a tangible catalyst not priced in. BWS has a generalist approach while many of the ideas do end up being industrial, technology, media, and telecom.

BWS utilizes a self formed proprietary approach in discovering stocks by putting great emphasis on deep research. BWS does generate short recommendations following a similar criteria.
Hamed Khorsand
As a Principal at BWS Financial Inc., I bring more than 20 years of extensive investment expertise to the table. My focus lies in furnishing institutional investors with comprehensive equities research, particularly delving into growth and deep value stocks. I specialize in identifying opportunities within companies boasting robust free cash flow, often overlooked by conventional market analysis.
My approach stands out for its distinctive blend of idea generation and entrepreneurial insight, enabling me to pinpoint businesses with the highest potential for returns.
My academic background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the prestigious University of Southern California.
Beyond my professional pursuits, I have garnered recognition for my active involvement in civic engagements. Notably, I am currently CFO of Valley Cultural Foundation. I also served as an afterschool mentor with Los Angeles Team Mentoring, contributed to the advisory board of the RISSC program at Mt. San Antonio College, presided as the past President of West Valley PALS, and held a position on the board of the Securities Traders Association of Los Angeles. Additionally, I dedicated time as Santa at Valley Presbyterian Hospital for the past five years, earning the esteemed Diamond of the Community Award from the Encino Chamber of Commerce in 2018.
Away from the financial realm, I find joy in traveling. Whether embarking on a weekend getaway to a European or Asian city or exploring new culinary delights along the 101 freeway, my passion for exploration is a constant companion.
Vahid Khorsand
Vahid joined BWS Financial in 2006. Vahid broadens BWS’s generalist approach with essential insights in different industries. He graduated from California State University Long Beach and received his MBA from Pepperdine University. He is Vice President of the Los Angeles citywide Planning Commission.

BWS Financial is committed to being a leading citizen in Los Angeles and especially in the San Fernando Valley. The firm annually donates 10% of income to surrounding nonprofits.
